With the arrival of mild temperatures, the nightmare of head lice is back!
These are parasites that feed by pricking the scalp, releasing an irritant substance that causes intense itching.
✔️ How to prevent them?
Do not exchange personal items (brushes, hats, scarves, etc.) - Check your scalp regularly and frequently using a fine-tooth comb. - Use anti-lice products (shampoos, sprays, lotions, foams) which create an unfavourable environment for head lice by lowering the pH of the skin.
❌ How to get rid of them?
It is advisable to consult the paediatrician and/or ask the pharmacist for advice on the most suitable product. In general, to treat pediculosis it is sufficient to apply a specific anti-parasitic product based on pyrethroids or malathion.� After the treatment the hair must be washed and combed with a fine-toothed comb to remove the eggs and dead lice.
Don't forget to decontaminate personal belongings: wash and disinfect brushes, clothes, towels and sheets to eliminate the risk of re-infestation.
